STATEMENT

I am a graphic designer and production artist with more than 20 years of experience—including 16 years as a freelance contractor. I have clients across the United States and work both onsite and remotely.

My highest design aspiration is turning a client’s vision into something greater than they expected, while holding true to their vision at its core.

Typography plays a major role in my work, from typeface selection to meticulous letterspacing to alteration of individual characters and even whole typefaces. Motto: Legibility must never be compromised by personality.

I strongly consider the many ways printed materials interact with an individual when held in the hand. I help clients shape that experience—with regard to both content and imagery—in order to reach the largest audience within their targeted demographic.

My fine art background has given me an understanding of light, form and structure which elevates my skills in photo manipulation and reconstruction. My mathematics background helps me to think forward step-by-step when solving complex design problems and, just as importantly, it helps me ensure that “all the pieces fit.”

My work has been selected for Print Magazine’s Regional Design Annual and has been published in books such as Templin Brink’s Two Color Graphics and San Francisco Art Commission’s Arts for the City.
